What Good Shall I do today?

Amethyst Place provides transitional housing for women in recovery and their children.  Five years ago, I was introduced to this Kansas City based organization.  I helped furnish and decorate an apartment for a woman named Casey and her two young ones.    Since then, I’ve been involved in fundraisers for them in the Kansas City area.  It’s been inspiring to witness second chances and lives moving forward.

Phoenix Family Housing, Hike Program, provides after school reading programs for low income children in the inner city of Kansas City.   I was introduced to the program through clients who own and operate housing in the inner city.  They founded this program to help their residents and children reach new opportunities and break the poverty cycles in their families.  I designed and decorated a library, reading room and computer room for their property, East Hills.   Upon completion I was presented with over 100 hand made thank you’s from the kids in the program.  These kids are amazing and it’s my pleasure to be involved with PFH.

Kansas City Symphony Designer’s Showhouse is a 46 year tradition that supports the KC Symphony.  I was chosen to design and decorate rooms for 2008 & 2009 showhouses.

Lake of the Forest Holiday Homes Tour is a fundraiser for a local historic community.  I was blessed to have the opportunity to chair the fundraiser in 2014.   The tour showcased 5 homes.  https://www.facebook.com/events/751617278242010/
